The Causebox Winter 2019 has made it into my grubby little hands on, and I’ve had an opportunity to try everything out. Not surprisingly, I love it!
It’s got some great winter-themed items from socially conscious brands that include cozy mittens, a heavyweight throw, and two great products for your skin. I’ve had a chance to try most of these items out, and here’s what I’ve got to report:
What did I get in the winter 2019 Causebox?
Imani Collective Woven Throw Blanket
I might or might not be a throw blanket junkie. One look around my living room and you realize that you actually can’t see the couch because it’s covered in them. So, it’s no surprise that I was thrilled to add this Imani Collective to the mix.
I love the weight of this blanket. It is “loomed with love by artisans in India” and the cotton is a slight bit heavier than most of my other ones. I got this bad boy in slate and think it’s gorgeous. It’s worth $120 USD, which makes the $50 cost of Causebox totally worth it.
Derma E Hydrating Night Cream
My skin looks freaking amazing, and it’s at least, in part, thanks to this Derma E night cream. It’s an ultra-rich and heavy cream that hydrates while you sleep. And, I can attest that it works like a charm.
The cream is thick, a little sticky, and the smell isn’t my favourite. But it really truly works. I’ve been using it nightly, right before I’ve went to bed, and my skin is seriously looking great.
This cream combined with the fact that I’ve been going to phototherapy three times per week has my face looking AMAZING. I can say confidently that when I’ve used it all up, I will very likely pay the $29.50 USD to get myself more.
Pur 4-in-1 Correcting Primer
When the Pur correcting primer showed up, I had just run out of my last bottle of primer. It was a god-send as far as make-up goes. It has a slight candy smell to it, and drys a tad bit sticky to help your makeup stick.
It’s made of aloe, coconut water and probiotics. It keeps your skin hydrated and nourished. This is another one of those items that I will likely replace when I run out. The replacement cost will be $34 when the time comes.
Whitney Kerney Mugs (Set of 2)
I am not really a person who needs coffee mugs as I’m not a huge coffee drinker, though I do go with the occasional tea. So, ultimately these babies were not my favourite pick from the box. That said, they are gorgeously made and I am a huge mix-and-match dish fan.
These have a lovely weight to them and are clearly made of quality material. Not to mention, I love the fact that the proceeds of them go towards supporting victims of domestic violence. These are worth $35 USD.
Convertible Mittens by Siizu
These cozy convertible mittens are both soft and versatile. The top flips open and buttons to the back when you want to poke your fingers out. And they can be closed up when you need to keep warm.
They are a super cute pick and one of my favourite items in the winter 2019 Causebox. That said, I have fat fingers and they tend to be a tad bit tight on them, especially when I bend them. They are made from recycled materials and worth $33 USD.
Machete Holiday Hair Clip Set
I have not had a chance to wear the Machete Holiday Hair Clip Set yet, but it’s super cute. Valued at $31, these pair of hair clips are cute and versatile. One is a gold circular clip, while the other is a flat long tortoise clip.
Being someone with long hair and no ear piercings, I obviously chose these over the stud earrings in the Causebox Winter 2019. They are elegant, classy and perfect to pair with a variety of outfits. I’m actually really excited to wear them, and I’ve got a special event picked out for their debut.
Should you get a Causebox subscription?
Not to play favourites here, but Causebox is my top pick subscription box. It’s not because it’s significantly better than any other box, in fact, there are actually fewer items in it than the Causebox than FabFitFun. But what I love about them is what they stand for.
Causebox is all about products that are good for you and good for the community. I find that their things are high quality, and they meet my needs when it comes to changing out the things that are bad for my skin—something that I’m trying to take seriously in 2020.
